Leadership Training

Grow in private before you lead in public.

Nobody stands on the platform here, or leads anything, because they asked to. People are recognised when the church has watched them walk with Jesus for a while, in a study group, in the prayer meeting, in the quiet jobs nobody sees. The programme starts with the pastor’s own rule: grow in private before you lead in public.

It is deliberately slow, and it is for members and disciples of this church, not for anyone who signs up. A year, sometimes two, in a small group with a pastor, working through the Bible’s own picture of a leader: someone who prays before they speak, serves before they are seen, and can be corrected without falling apart.

What we promise is honesty, not a role. You will be prayed for, taught, told the truth kindly, and given ordinary things to do alongside people who have done them for years. If the church later sees you leading, it will be because it already is.

Visiting teachers from other churches sit in from time to time and tell us what they see. We would rather be sharpened than flattered.

  1. 01Connected

You are here on Sundays, in a study group, known by name. This is where everyone starts.

  2. 02Rooted

Prayer, the Word, and your own life in order. Nothing public.

  3. 03Serving

Ordinary work beside people who have done it for years: chairs, lunch, welcome, the children.

  4. 04Recognised

When the church already sees it, the pastors say so. Leading follows, never the other way round.

What to expect

  • A pastor who knows your name and your week
  • Reading and a meeting most weeks
  • Honest feedback, given kindly
  • No promise of a platform, a title, or a date

Who it is for
Not a course anyone can sign up for, and not a shortcut to the stage. If you are new, begin by coming, joining a study group, and getting known. If you have walked with this church for a while and sense this is for you, tell a pastor on a Sunday.
