About our study groupsFull details
Discipleship classes run at the church in the evening, for members and for anyone who has begun walking with this church and wants to be taught properly rather than picking things up as they go.
Bring a Bible and something to write with. The teaching is in Hindi and English, and you are welcome to ask questions as they come up rather than saving them for the end.
The schedule follows the one already announced in the services. If you are not sure whether a class is running in a given week, ask at the welcome desk on Sunday.

Thursday Evening Prayer · बृहस्पतिवार संध्या प्रार्थना
Every Thursday, 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The church prays together.

Every Thursday evening the church meets to pray. It is not a service and there is no programme: we pray for the city, for the sick, for families, and for whatever the church is carrying that week.
Come for the whole of it or for the part of it you can manage. People arrive from work through the evening and nobody minds.
If you cannot be there, you can still send what you want prayed for, and it is prayed for by name.

Saturday Fasting Prayer · शनिवार उपवास प्रार्थना
Every Saturday, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The habit this church was built on.

About prayer & fastingFull details
Before this church had a building it had a prayer meeting, and it still does. Every Saturday the church fasts and prays together for two hours.
Fasting here is ordinary rather than exceptional. If you have never fasted, come anyway and pray; nobody is checking, and nobody should fast against medical advice.
Children are welcome. People sit on mats at the front and on chairs at the back, whichever you prefer.

Men’s Fellowship Picnic
Meeting point: Light of the World Church
A day away together for the men of this church: fellowship, games, food, prayer, and the kind of conversation that does not fit into ten minutes after a service.
Everyone gathers at the church first and travels together. Come on time, because the group leaves together.

December 2026
Christmas Carols
Zirakpur and around the Tricity
Through December the choir sings carols at the church and visits homes around the Tricity. It is one of the happiest things this church does all year, and it is how a good many people first walk through the door.
If you would like the carol singers to come to your home, or you would like to sing with them, tell the office and they will put you on the list.
Dates are confirmed in the Sunday services as they are fixed.

Christmas 2026
Light of the World Church, Zirakpur
The Christmas service, with the children’s and young people’s items, the choir, and the message. The hall is full every year, so come in good time.
Bring your family and your neighbours. Nobody needs to belong to this church, or to any church, to sit down on Christmas morning.
