What we actually do and who it is for.

Before this church had a building it had a prayer meeting, and it still does. Every Saturday the church fasts and prays together in Zirakpur. It is ordinary here, not a special event.

“From the soil to the mission.” Our own work beyond the two congregations, teaching visits, and support for believers in villages in Punjab who gather without a pastor.

While the adults are in the service, the children have their own, songs they can dance to, a Bible story told properly, and prayer they take part in rather than sit through.

A Sunday message is forty minutes. A small group is where it becomes Monday. Groups of eight to twelve meet in a home near you, in Hindi or in English, to read the Bible slowly and pray for one another.

Young people meet twice a month, singing, an honest discussion on a topic they chose, and food. It is the place people bring their questions, including the awkward ones.

Nobody stands on the platform here, or leads anything, because they asked to. People are recognised when the church has watched them walk with Jesus for a while, in a study group, in the prayer meeting, in the quiet jobs nobody sees. The programme starts with the pastor’s own rule: grow in private before you lead in public.

Food and clothing for families going through a hard season. Visits to older people who live alone. Help in an emergency, when we can.
