Truth is Jesus

Somebody in your office, your hostel, or your own family has asked you the question: “Why Jesus?” Not in anger, just curious. Many of us go quiet, because we have never put our answer into words. This message is our answer, said plainly, from Galatians and from the mouth of Jesus Himself.

Galatians 3:1: “You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.”

Jesus: The Only Way to God

We believe Jesus is the way to the Father, not because we are better, but because He said it and rose to prove it.

In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That is our foundation. We are not comparing ourselves with anybody. We are simply telling you what we have found: through faith in Jesus Christ a person is forgiven, reconciled to God, and given eternal life.

Why through Jesus? Because we cannot climb to God by our own effort. Our fasting is good, our giving is good, our discipline is good, but none of it buys a seat at His table. What connects us to God is the sacrifice Jesus offered on the cross, and we receive it by accepting it. That is why Paul is so sharp in Galatians 3:1. Those churches had received the gospel, and now someone was telling them to add rules on top of grace. Paul says: refuse that. Hold on to the gospel of Christ you first received.

Grace and Acceptance Come Through Jesus

Grace means God accepts you before you have fixed yourself, because Jesus has already paid the bill.

Jesus came with an invitation of grace, not a list of legal requirements. Galatians 2:16 says, “A person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.” Read it slowly. Believing in Jesus is how God gives salvation freely, by grace.

So many people carry inner turmoil because they think they must first become worthy before they approach God. A woman once told me, “Pastor, let me first sort out my life, then I will come.” No. Come now. Jesus accepts everyone who comes, whatever road they have walked. Through grace, God covers our sin and gives us His unconditional love. Through Jesus, we are adopted into God’s family.

Faith is Relationship with God

Faith is not agreeing with a fact about Jesus; it is walking with a Person every single day.

Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Faith is the essential thing. And faith is built by complete trust and daily communion.

You do not have a relationship with your wife because you know her date of birth. You have a relationship because you talk every day. It is the same with Jesus. He invites us close. We pray to Him, we receive guidance from His teaching, and He leads us through the ordinary decisions of daily life. A life of faith is not a set of religious duties. It is loving Jesus and following Him completely.

Jesus: The Sacrifice that Saves Us

The cross is not a decoration on the wall; it is the place where Jesus took the punishment that was ours.

Jesus’ death on the cross is the foundation of our salvation. In Galatians 3:13 Paul writes, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.” Because of sin, humanity stood under condemnation. Jesus stepped into our place and carried the punishment we deserved.

Through His sacrifice we are justified and made righteous before God. His resurrection proves His victory over sin and death and gives us the hope of eternal life. The cross is the greatest demonstration of God’s love for us that there will ever be.

The Power of the Cross

To the watching world the cross looks like weakness, but to those who trust it, it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18 says, “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Jesus won the victory through the cross. He conquered sin and He sets people free from bondage. We have watched the cross change hearts in this city: a man who could not stop drinking, a woman eaten up by bitterness, a young person bound by a screen. We pray for the sick and for the bound in His name, and we leave the results with God. When you accept what Christ did on the cross, you receive new life and victory over sin.

Growing in the Revelation of Jesus

Knowing Jesus is not a one-day decision; it is a road you walk every day until you see Him face to face.

In Ephesians 1:17-18 Paul prays that God “may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” Following Jesus is a journey that goes on for the rest of your life. To grow in our understanding of Him, we must:

• Spend time in God’s Word every day.
• Pray and seek His presence.
• Walk in obedience to His teaching.
• Tell people plainly what we have found, without pressure.

As we draw closer to Jesus, our lives change, and we begin to reflect His love, wisdom, and character.

So here is what we believe, said simply. Jesus is the truth that leads to God. Through Him we have access to the Father, grace flows to us, and His sacrifice saves us. Our faith joins us to God, and the power of the cross works in our everyday lives. Knowing Jesus brings His peace, His strength, and His direction. We hold on to that faith with joy, not with a raised voice. Amen.

• Read John 14 slowly once a day, and underline every “I am.”
• Write down in two sentences why you follow Jesus, and keep it ready for the next time someone asks. Say it without arguing.
• Each morning, pray Ephesians 1:17 in your own words: “Lord, give me wisdom and revelation to know You better today.”
